Mr Goh Chok Tong will retire!

Singapore's 2nd Prime Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong has announce that he will not be running in the coming GE2020 and will retire as MP.

Mr Goh Chok Tong had served as Singapore's 2nd Prime Minister from 28 November 1990 to 12 August 2004. He took over late Mr Lee Kuan Yew who was Singapore's 1st Prime Minister. Mr Goh Chok Tong was then succeeded by 3rd and current Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong who is also son of late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Mr Goh Chok Tong was elected as a Member of Parliament for Marine Parade SMC in 1976 after the general election and has since served the nation. He is currently MP of Marine Parade GRC and Singapore's one and only Emeritus Senior Minister.

Mr Goh has announced that Dr Tan See Leng will succeed him at Marine Parade GRC. Dr Tan See Leng has been understidying Mr Goh for about 2 years.

Dr Tan See Leng is the former chief executive officer of IHH Healthcare.
